What is the employee loyalty index (eNPS)?

Employee loyalty index The Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) is an indicator that helps a company measure how satisfied employees are with their jobs and are willing to recommend the company to others. It is calculated based on responses to the question, "How likely are you to recommend our company as a good place to work?".

Employees are divided into three groups:

  • promoters - those who are likely to recommend the company;

  • neutrals - those who are generally satisfied with the company, but would not recommend it as a place of work;

  • critics - those who categorically do not recommend it.

The percentage of critics is then subtracted from the percentage of promoters. This is the total eNPS:

eNPS = % promoters - % critics

A high eNPS indicates employee loyalty and satisfaction, while a low eNPS may indicate problems in corporate culture, management or working conditions.

eNPS is an important indicator for HR professionals that indicates the existence of possible problems in the company.

It is worth noting that companies with high eNPS usually attract more talented professionals. This is natural, as good employee references increase their reputation on the labor market.
