Holiday accrual

What is holiday accrual?

Holiday accrual - are payments that an employee receives for periods when he or she is temporarily absent from work for valid reasons. Such payments are part of social protection and are regulated by labor legislation or corporate policy of the company.

One of the most common examples is the payment of annual paid vacation. During this period, the employee receives average earnings, which allows the employee to rest without losing income.

Another example is. sick leave. If an employee falls ill, he or she receives compensation that partially or fully covers his or her salary for the period of treatment. The amount of payment usually depends on the length of service and country-specific legislation.

Compensated absences may also include payments for maternity leave, child care or temporary disability. Some companies provide for additional payments, such as those for study leave or conference participation.

Such payments help to keep employees' income stable in difficult life situations, maintain their loyalty and build trust in the employer.
