Key worker

Who is a key worker?

Key worker (or key employee) is a person who plays an important role in achieving the company’s strategic goals. Such employees have unique skills, experience, and knowledge that make them simply indispensable to the success of the organization.

Examples of key employees are leading developers in IT companies, chief engineers in production, and specialists in retail who know all the nuances of working with customers. Very often, the contribution of key employees in a business affects the competitiveness of the company.

Companies seek to attract, develop, and retain key employees. To this end, special motivation programs are created, which may include career development, training, flexible schedules, or additional bonuses.

The loss of a key employee can significantly affect the company’s work, as replacing such a specialist requires time and resources. Therefore, it is important for companies to assess their contribution in time and provide conditions for comfortable work.
